The Oakland duo and real-life friends have both experienced new heights of success over the last year, so it only makes perfect sense that they’ve decided to join forces once again on: “Good Life,” the latest single lifted off the upcoming soundtrack to The Fate of the Furious aka Fast 8.
As the song title suggests, “Good Life” – produced by Infamous and Ben Billions – is a feel good high-octane production that sees Kehlani taking the lead with an infectious hook (“We put the good in the good in the good life/ We put the good in the good in the good…”), while G-Eazy spits rhymes in-between about being able to provide for his family now: “I told my moms not to stress no more/ Go hit the Bentley store and no credit card debts no more (Love you mom)/ I bought the crib and it’s in escrow now/ So you don’t ever have to worry about how you gon’ pay rent no more.”
“Kehlani is one of my favorite people on earth. She’s incredibly talented but beyond that she has a special soul,” G-Eazy said in a statement. “It’s easy for us to work together because we go way back, that’s one of my closest homies. She has a great energy and this song is all about that.”
“Collaborating with G is always special because it’s deeper than music, it’s friendship, it’s wanting a day-one to succeed alongside you…succeeding with family,” Kehlani added. “Being a part of the album and the Fast and Furious franchise is an honor. As not only a fan of great action films, but a super fan of this specific franchise, I honestly couldn’t even believe I was chosen. I grew up watching the Fast and Furious films, waiting for the next one with my little siblings. It really brought us together. And the music video has all the amazing elements the films have: dope cars, real friendship, cool cities, and kick-ass individuals.”
It’s perfectly polished, care-free ear candy made perfect for true lovers of life.. and I ain’t mad at it one bit. LIVE!
