The Veronicas Wish Their Ex’s Well On New Single ‘On Your Side’!

This goes out to you and you and you… You know who you are.

Following the release of “In My Blood” in June – which has earned them three 2016 ARIA Awards nominations, including Best Group, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Release – The Veronicas have decided to move forward with their new single “On Your Side,” the second official single of their forthcoming fourth studio album, due out early next year.

Surrounded by effervescent synth lines, the Aussie twin-sis duo sweetly wish future happiness to their former lovers despite the heartbreak of a split on the uplifting track, co-written and produced with hit-makers Wayne Hector (One Direction, Nicki Minaj) and Jim Eliot (Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding). “Life isn’t pretty we all get a little wrecked sometimes/ If God’s listening, people think you’re out of your mind/ Even if you believe it/ Through all the hard times/ I’m on your side,” the girls declare over a fusion of dance-pop and dancehall influences.

The message of the song is basically this: “After you have loved and lived through different relationships, you reach a place where there’s a certain amount of acceptance that the love that you shared still exists even if the relationship doesn’t,” Jess and Lisa said in a statement. “It’s about loving someone so much that you really do want them to be happy even if it isn’t with you.”

While the sound is a little bit on the chasing pop-trends side of things, some way, The Veronicas still manage to make it sound wholeheartedly their own – A WIN!

The Veronicas new single “On Your Side” will be released on all digital platforms at midnight!
