Guess who’s back again?? Other than us of course… It’s Bruno Mars!
It’s hard to believe that it’s already been nearly four years since Bruno released solo music, considering he’s managed to stay very relevant with his massive 2014 Mark Ronson collaboration “Uptown Funk.” The song spent 14 consecutive weeks at #1 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100, and it also won both its Grammy Award nominations for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
But now, he’s truly back, this time on his own, with the Shampoo Press & Curl and The Stereotypes produced “24K Magic” (pronounced twenty-four karat magic), the first from his highly-anticipated third studio album, also dubbed 24K Magic (due out everywhere on November 18th) — and he’s done it again. Truly. Honestly. “Oh they don’t know? Go on tell ’em!“
“24K Magic” basically picks up where Bruno‘s inescapable Ronson pairing left off — and it’s arguably even more appealing with its similar nostalgic blend of disco, funk and hip-hop sounds. But does that make Bruno‘s return any less thrilling, or “24K Magic” any less effective? No.. The song is destined to be a hit, Bruno is just owning his reference points and running with it. He is reference King!
The song comes accompanied with a brand new music video co-directed by Bruno himself with longtime collaborator Cameron Duddy – Get into it below!
