Shura is truly taking us on a journey with Nothing’s Real.
After already supplying us with “2Shy,” “Indecision,” “White Light,” “Touch” and “The Space Tapes,” the talented London-based singer-songwriter-producer has decided to unveil “What’s It Gonna Be?,” the sixth taste off the forthcoming debut studio album (due out July 8).
Like so much of what we’ve already heard from the record, “What’s It Gonna Be?” finds Shura laying down her sugary sweet vocals on-top of her signature safe space–that is, simmering ’80’s-esque synthesizers and that infectious bubbly, electronica we’ve grown to love. “I don’t wanna give you up/ I don’t wanna let you love somebody else but me/ So what’s it gonna be?,” she ponders. It’s just as delicate and dreamy as the others, yet on the first listen “What’s It Gonna Be?” feels like more of a upbeat triumphant moment than the soft-spoken vibe of, say, “Touch.” It’s next level Shura – What do you guys think?
“It’s the first piece of truly new music in a while,” Shura told BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac. “The record is about fancying someone and maybe having a kind of connection and realizing that it’s probably not gonna happen.”
