Between her smash “NO,” “Watch Me Do,” “I Love Me” and the irresistible island-tinged “Better,” Meghan Trainor has already given us plenty of reason to believe that her upcoming second studio album Thank You, won’t end up being a sophomore slump. I’m seriously happy with just “Better” alone, it’s been on constant repeat ever since it dropped last week!
And now, just in time for Mother’s Day, Meghan has dropped deluxe edition bonus track “Mom“! The feel-good, upbeat number appropriately finds Meghan bragging about how much she loves her mother, Kelli Trainor, and how she was the one who taught her how to love herself. “You might have a mom, she might be the bomb/ But ain’t nobody got a mom like mine/ Her love’s ’til the end, she’s my best friend/ Ain’t nobody got a mom like mine,” she sings the doo-wop-inspired chorus.
It’s obviously not the most groundbreaking song in the world, but it’s undeniably a super sweet tribute to all the wonderful mother’s of the world. I can already see myself forcing this onto my mother as I annoyingly dance and bop around her. Sorry in advance mommy
