The Chainsmokers Continue Slayage With Charlee-Assisted ‘Inside Out’!

With two singles currently making fast moves on the Billboard Hot 100 chart – “Roses” at #16, followed by the Daya-assisted “Don’t Let Me Down” at #31 – it’s clear that The Chainsmokers are on top of their game right now. They’re slaying so let’s keep things moving, shall we…

This week, the NYC-based duo drop “Inside Out,” their brand new collaborative track with Swedish vocalist Charlee! The slow-building, melodic electro-pop number opens with a gorgeous-sounding, minimal string arrangement that leaves plenty of room for focus on Charlee‘s haunting vocals, which kind of reminds me of Christina Perri‘s soft vocals – Do y’all hear it? As she croons for her love: “Let me see the dark sides as well as the bright/ I’m gonna love you inside out/ Let me see the dark sides as well as the bright/ I’m gonna love you inside out.”

It’s a beautiful, heartfelt chance of pace for the boys – Is there anything they can’t do?

“Long story but we found Charlee through our buddy Adrian Lux. We asked him who the girl was who had been singing on a few of his records and he pointed us in the direction of Charlee,” The Chainsmokers said in a statement via their Souncloud. “This was about 1.5 years ago. We sent Charlee a couple demo ideas and it wasn’t long before we got Inside Out and we fell head over heals for her. So Charlee is from Sweden is probably the coolest, most authentic dark soul we have ever met. She oozes these types of heavy vibey lyrics. Our only regret is taking so long to get this song out but our first attempt was halted due to a computer crash and project loss… but we think it bounced back even better. We have held this song really close though so we hope you enjoy it!”
