Voguing Queen FKA Twigs just hit up BBC Radio 1 to premiere a brand new single called “Good To Love“!
But that’s not all: she also dropped a simplistic, mesmerizing black-white visual to go with it. Generous Voguing Queen!
True to form, the track is as soulful and sultry as the rest of what we’ve already heard from the innovative songstress, but with a more pop — dare I say, radio-friendly — sound than Twigs‘ usual eerie beat-heavy affair. “It’s not your fault that I’m loved to my limit/ I’ve had plenty so I know you’re mine/ If only a prayer would make your touch so I’d feel it/ But I’d be wasting time,” she croons over the gorgeously minimalistic production, before launching into arguably her most immediate chorus to date: “It’s good to love/ It’s good to love, it’s good to love/ I’ve got a right to give/ So good to love, so good to love/ But when you give yourself away it always hurts to much/ So you pray to get it back only god can give you that.”
It’s simply sublime! Twigs has already established her moody sparse aesthetic, so it’s nice to finally hear what she can do with a more accessible stripped-back beat. My favorite thing she’s put out thus far – LOVE!
“Good To Love” will be made available via all digital platforms at midnight!
