Hailee Steinfeld Offers Up Proper Introduction On Debut ‘Haiz’ EP – Stream Now!

Rejoice, true lovers of well-crafted pop: Hailee Steinfeld‘s entire debut EP Haiz is streaming in full on VEVO!

The 18-year-old actress-turned-singer got us all grooving in the latter half of summer with her self-empowerment smash “Love Myself,” and its slick accompanying music video. As with any buzzed-about pop act, there’s always a chance that the pop star in question only has one solid song to offer. But judging by Haiz, which comes packed with three new pop gems — we ain’t got too much to worry about with Princess Hailee.

The entire EP — from the cheeky foot stomping “You’re Such A” to the propulsive “Rock Bottom” to the infectious synth pulsations of the sonically innovative introvert anthem “Hell Nos and Headphones” — is a perfectly listenable, age-appropriate collection of pop that neither breaks boundaries nor plays it too safe, allowing Hailee to flaunt her versatility as a new pop starlet. There’s no questioning that it’s solid introduction to the general public – she’s had wonderful help: Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter and Mattman & Robin. My only criticism is that it’s not too hard to imagine someone else singing these songs, it’s all very Taylor Swift, Tove Lo, Charli XCX esque. Of course, she’s still very young and new, she has plenty of time to forge her own path and develop a winning sound that will keep her on top of the charts with a proper full-length debut LP in 2016.
